Spring!

So, it's March 20th - the first day of spring.  Sweet.

Last Friday, on the way home from work...

I'm updating from work, so this could be choppy.

The last 10 days has been almost like summer; very comfy temps, sunny skies and nearly mild nights.  I can get used to this.

Last Saturday, from Alien Trail in Aztec, NM...

I'm sure we're probably still in for one more whopper of a snow storm, but I'm getting outside as much as possible.  Last weekend we made it to Alien Trail on Saturday - trail was in great condition, very fast and smooth.   Sunday, we hit Phil's world, which is 100% open now, and also in great shape with lots of re-routes on the start, and the new ledges loop is always interesting.

How the Alien Trail got its name...

After work, I've been hitting the dirt jumps at an undisclosed location.  Ran in to a couple riders from local shops the last time I was there, so I shot a couple photos...

Previous weekend, we tried to ride Alien trail too - but were working off of bum directions, and ultimately we ended up at the Ruins in Aztec, so it wasn't a total bust.  The Ruins were cool.  Not quite as remote as some others in the area, but very intact and under great care.

The next day we climbed to the top of Hogsback, a local "peak" in town here.  There's one section that is sort of steep and loose - and we watched a woman really have a hard time with trying to get down... she made it safely though.  Its actually a climb that not everyone is cut out for, though that does not stop too many...

If you look closely, you can see a little spec of a person climbing down...

That's me, rolling in a slickrock half-bowl at Alien Trail....

Well.. that's it.  Just an excuse to post some photos and test out this plug in for facebook and firefox and blogger and notes...  Have a smashing weekend.  I'll be off to Phil's world Saturday, and probably doing some downhill stuff on Sunday...

peace.
